How to find a niche

Using sales and search statistics from Amazon is basically a fool-proof and guaranteed method for finding a niche that is popular and selling well! Let’s think about that for a minute…

Amazon is the largest book store in the world, so they have a large marketplace with large numbers of users. Those users leave traces of their consumer patterns by doing searches, by creating wish lists, leaving book reviews and also when buying books.

So if you navigate to the family section of Amazon Books then filter by best selling, you’ll be looking at titles which receive the most amount of sales. If the top selling book for that niche is pregnancy, then you are able to target that niche when creating your own info product. There is much more to drilling down into that niche and finding out what the audience wants of course, but at least now you have a solid niche idea that took just a few minutes to find.

Also, if you filter results based upon most reviews, this can illustrate niches that are popular because the customers aren’t simply buying the title they’re also reading it and discussing the contents with others. If you then look into the book reviews, you will see them peppered with negative comments and questions… THAT STUFF IS GOLD. Because if a book is popular, and people are saying that they enjoyed A,B & C but they are annoyed they can’t find D, E & F you know exactly what to create your info product on.

I could go on for hours about usingĀ Amazon stats to find a niche, but I’ll save that for my workshops. For now though, if you want to know how to find a niche then you can’t go wrong with the data provided for free on Amazon.com
